Liudvika Leišytė and Anna-Lena Rose presented findings on the governance of German private HEIs at the French conference for higher education research.

Based on a website- and document analysis and interviews with experts as well as organisational actors at selected private HEIs, the presentation showed that German private HE governance does not come as close to managerial ideals as assumed. Liudvika Leišytė and Anna-Lena Rose proposed different configurations of the governance equalizer model for private universities and private universities of applied sciences and critically reflected on the use of the model for further, possibly internationally comparative study of the governance of private HE.
